When you're writing a template or reviewing a document, you often want as much space as possible for the page itself. That's why you can collapse both sidebars in Connie to a slim strip of icons.
Connie remembers your choice. Collapse a sidebar once and it stays that way on every page and every device you log in on, until you open it again. Collapsing only changes your own view, not your colleagues'.
The menu on the left
Click the double arrow («) at the top of the menu to collapse it. The menu shrinks to its icons, so you can still jump to Projects, Documents, Templates and the rest with one click.
To open it again, click the double arrow (») at the top of the strip.
Your account menu is still there when the menu is collapsed. Click your profile picture at the bottom of the strip.
The panel on the right
Editors and document pages have a panel on the right with settings and actions. Click the double arrow (») in the panel header to collapse it, and the double arrow («) at the top of the strip to open it again.
When the panel is collapsed, the strip shows:
The main action for the page, as a small button in Connie's brand colour at the top of the strip
The panel's tabs as icons below it, like Document settings, or Chat
Hover over any icon to see what it is. If a document has unread chat messages, the number shows on the Chat icon.
Finding your action buttons
The most important button on a page is always the brand-coloured one in the collapsed strip:
Where you are | The brand-coloured button |
Document editor | Preview Document (eye icon) and Issue Document (send icon) |
Template editor | Publish changes (send icon) |
SignPage editor | Publish SignPage (send icon) |
Clicking the button opens the panel with the action in view, so you can check your settings before you continue. Then click the full button in the panel as usual.
Tip
Can't find a button you're used to? Look for the brand-coloured icon at the top of the right-hand strip, or open the panel with the double arrow.
Good to know
Collapsing is available on desktop. On a phone, the menu and panel open as usual.
Collapsing a panel never loses your work. Your edits are saved as you type.
