Connie AI is the set of AI features built into Connie. Today that is document import: drop a Word document or a PDF into an empty template, and Connie turns it into an editable template, spotting placeholders like [Name] or [Date] and turning them into SmartTags for you. More AI features are on the way.
Availability: Connie AI is included in the Studio and Professional plans. It is off until somebody in your workspace turns it on.
Turn Connie AI on or off
You need the Manage settings permission (see Permissions explained: Manage settings).
Go to Settings → AI & Agents.
Under Connie AI Features, turn on Connie AI.
The change applies to everyone in the workspace straight away. Turning it off again hides the AI features and stops anything more being sent for processing. Connie keeps a record of who turned it on or off, and when.
Import a document as a template
Create a new template, and leave the document empty.
Drag a .docx or .pdf file onto the editor and drop it.
Connie reads the document and fills in the template, section by section. Check the result, especially tables and numbering, and adjust the SmartTags before you publish.
Files can be up to 50 MB, and a workspace can import up to 50 documents a day.
AI and your data
Connie AI uses Mistral, a European AI provider, to power its features. When you import a document, its contents are sent to Mistral to be read and structured, and the result comes back into your template. Your data is handled with care:
Mistral does not use your data to train its models.
Your data is used only to provide the feature and to check for abuse.
Mistral deletes it within 30 days.
Nothing is sent to Mistral unless Connie AI is turned on and somebody uses an AI feature. Contracts you send for signature, and signing itself, never go through Connie AI.
Connie AI and AI agents are separate
Connie AI is about AI built into Connie. Connecting your own AI tool, such as Claude or ChatGPT, is a separate setting on the same page, with its own switches. See Connect Connie to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools.
