Add notes inside your documents and agreements that only your team can see.

What are internal notes?

Internal notes help guide colleagues, explain tricky clauses, or flag sections, making sure contracts are filled out and reviewed correctly before sending. You can create internal notes in the editor when setting up a Documents, SignPage, or Template. Only your team will see the internal note. This is a very helpful way to make sure your Documents, Templates, and SignPages are used in the right way by those issuing it.

How to use internal notes

In the toolbar at the top, click Insert and select Internal Notes:

This feature is perfect for highlighting or drawing attention to specific parts of your document. As the name suggests, an internal note is visible only to your team and wonโ€™t appear when you issue the contract.

Use case examples

Many users add internal notes to:

  • Guide each other in filling out contracts correctly

  • Add reminders

  • Explain clauses

  • Flag sections that need review before sending
