Send a PDF for signature

You can upload any PDF to Connie and send it for signature directly – no template or setup needed.

Upload your PDF, add the signer, and send. Once signed, the completed document is stored in your Project alongside everything else.

Before you start

PDFs in Connie are treated as fixed documents. If your PDF contains interactive elements like form fields, checkboxes, or editable inputs, these cannot be filled in or edited inside Connie. Only the signature is added – the document itself stays unchanged.

If you need a document that is fillable, editable, and reusable, consider setting up a template or starting a document from scratch. Here you can create form fields by inserting SmartTags instead.

Step-by-step guide

1. Click Projects in the left-hand menu

Here you will find all your existing Projects or can start a new one. Enter the project you want to work in.

2. Create a new document

Click on the New Document button in the top right corner.

3. Select From PDF File

Scroll down and select From PDF File.

4. Upload the PDF file

Upload the pdf file you would like to get a signature on.

5. Add the signer's details on the right side.

Click Edit to enter the name and email address of the primary signer. To add more signers, click Add signer. You can also decide whether you as the issuer need to sign the document at the end.

5. (Optional) Add additional recipients.

Additional recipients receive a copy of the signed document without being signers themselves. See Add an additional recipient for more details.

6. Select the signature type.

Choose between Simple electronic signature or Advanced electronic signature. Advanced electronic signature is currently available in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden.

7. (Optional) Add custom questions.

Custom questions appear during signing, separately from the document itself. Use them to collect information that does not belong in the document. You can choose whether responses are deleted automatically when the Project expires, keeping the process GDPR-compliant.

8. (Optional) Set an expiry date.

Connie will notify you before the document expires, giving you time to renew or archive it. See Expiry dates for more details.

9. Click Issue Contract.

The document is sent to the signer or signers.
