Collaborators or team members

Connie supports two types of people you can invite to your account: Collaborators and Team Members. Here's how they differ and when to use each.

Collaborator

Collaborators have limited access by default. They can only view the specific projects and its documents you explicitly share with them. This is ideal for freelancers, consultants, lawyers, or external partners.

A Collaborator can:

  • View projects and the included documents that they have access to.

Optionally, you can also allow them to:

  • Manage Contracts

Allow this person to issue, edit, download and export contracts on the projects they have access to.

A Collaborator will never see anything on your account unless you explicitly grant them access to it.

Team member

Team Members are designed for people who are actively involved in your work on Connie. They start with the same viewing access as Collaborators, but can be granted a much broader set of permissions.

A Team Member can:

  • View projects and the included documents that they have access to.

Optionally, you can also allow them to:

  • Manage Projects

Allow this person to create and edit projects they are a part of.

  • Manage Companies

Allow this person to manage companies and associated signers.

  • Manage Team

Allow this person to manage team members on this Connie account, including their permissions.

  • Manage Contracts

Allow this person to issue, edit, download and export contracts on the projects they have access to.

  • Manage Templates

Allow this person to create and edit contract templates.

  • Manage Settings

Allow this person to manage account settings.

What should you choose

Think about the role this person plays in your work. A simple rule of thumb:

  • Collaborator: They mainly need to view documents or sign off on contracts

  • Team Member: They're actively working alongside you in Connie

When in doubt, start with a Collaborator. You can always invite them as a Team Member later.

How to add your team

Once you've decided which role fits best, adding them to Connie is straightforward.
